Carlos Escurel Named Associate Principal

Carlos A. Escurel has been associated with the firm since 2009, and earned his Juris Doctorate from Wayne State University Law School in 2001.  While in law school, Mr. Escurel served as Chairperson for the Free Legal Aid Clinic (FLAC), as a Board Member for the Student Trial Advocacy Program (STAP), and as a Board Member for the law school’s Student Board of Governors (SBG). Since 2004, Mr. Escurel has been a member of the Executive Council for the Young Lawyers Section of the State Bar of Michigan.  Mr. Escurel has been a member of the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division Council (ABA YLD) since 2005, and is currently serving as Assembly Speaker.  The ABA YLD has over 150,000 members, and is the largest young lawyer organization in the world.  Prior to law school, Mr. Escurel received a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from James Madison College at Michigan State University (1997).  Mr. Escurel is admitted to practice in the state courts of Michigan and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.  In 2010, he was named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers magazine.
